Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I have my gas fireplace maintained?
It is recommended by most manufacturers to have your gas fireplace maintained on a yearly or bi-yearly basis. We suggest at least every other year. The more you use it, the dirtier it becomes. A good rule of thumb is that if your glass is foggy, it's probably ready for service.
How much do you charge?
We offer a reasonable flat-rate service call of $225. This includes cleaning, service, diagnostics, and repair. The only thing not included is parts, however we only replace what is absolutely necessary, and keep prices low at that.
Most fireplaces will be repaired with a general servicing in a painless one hour appointment.
Note: Due to rising gas prices, any appointments outside of Pueblo County will require a modest travel fee. Thank your for understanding.
Do you clean the glass?
Absolutely! We use a specific gas fireplace glass cleaner that removes that ugly carbon film while protecting it from future build up. We cannot recommend that you try this on your own as it is imperative to seal the glass properly, as well as only use proper cleaning solutions. Note that some glass may have etching/staining from years of burning into the glass, or if the wrong cleaners have been used. Most often we make glass look good as new!
Do you check for gas leaks?
Definitely. It is essential that you have your gas fireplace checked periodically for leaks. We use gas detectors to check for gas (natural and propane) and carbon monoxide leaks. If a leak is detected we can typically repair it at the same time.
Do you install blowers fans?
As long as you have a model that is suited for a blower, including having proper power in place (under the firebox) then we can install a blower for more heat! Blowers cost from $300-$400 depending on which one fits your particular fireplace. They come with a heat sensor for automatic operation, and a speed control so that it can be adjusted to a comfortable level of heat and noise.
Do you sell fireplaces?
We do not sell new fireplaces, so you can rest assured that we will not try to bait you into replacing your beloved gas fireplace. We always recommend to have us check it before considering replacements.
Do you work on wood burning fireplaces?
We do not work on traditional wood burning fireplaces, pellet stoves or chimneys. We only service natural gas and propane stoves, inserts, and log sets.
What if I still have problems after a servicing?
We offer a three month (90 day) labor warranty, as well as a year on all parts that we install. If you ever have problems after our visit, please do not hesitate to reach out. We will fit you back into the schedule as soon as possible and make things right. We will never leave you hanging.
Do you certify gas fireplaces for home sales?
Often, Colorado home inspectors will ask for a gas fireplace to be serviced and certified for a home sale. This is something we are very familiar with and we will give you all the documentation you need including the certification at no extra charge upon completion.
Do you offer emergency appointments?
We do not offer emergency appointments. If you smell gas near your fireplace, proceed to shutting off the gas, open windows to air out, and call your gas supplier if you need immediate assistance. If the smell goes away after you shut the gas off, schedule an appointment with us and we can locate, diagnose, and almost always repair the leak. We only offer first come first serve appointments, so get on the schedule as soon as possible!
What areas do you service?
We are proud to be based in and offer our services to anyone in Pueblo County. If you live outside Pueblo County there will be a small travel charge to cover rising gas prices. We travel to Custer, Huerfano and Fremont regularly. If you live outside these counties just ask, we may be able to take care of your gas fireplace needs.
